CHRISTMAS ISLAND PROJECT
SWITCH FROM DIESEL TO RENEWABLE ENERGY RESULTS IN
75% COST SAVING
On Christmas Island an environmental research project is transforming former mining sites into agricultural land.
The Seed clearing shed required for the land transformation are in a remote off-grid location resulting in high operational costs for the diesel generators that power them.
Unlimited Energy Australia custom designed a solar renewable energy solution providing reliable, consistent energy to run the cool room for 24 hours and provide surplus energy for power tools, seed processing machines and lighting.
The solution is comprised of: 11,7 kW solar installation and 14.4kWh Tesvolt battery system.
The switch from polluting diesel to renewable energy has resulted in lower maintenance, silent and environmentally friendly operation and lowered operational costs by around 75%.
Solar installation, SMA Sunny Boys inverters, SMA Sunny Island inverter, Tesvolt battery system
Off-grid clean energy power system - independent of diesel generator
Cost savings - mitigates the cost of diesel, transportation and system maintenance resulting in around 75% operational cost savings
Reliable - 24/7 consistent power supply
Silent and environmentally friendly operation
Safety - Tesvolt prismatic lithium battery technology is extremely safe and durable
Flexibility - the modular Tesvolt battery system allows for effective transportation to remote locations and provides the flexibility to expand to cater for additional loads in the future
