ROCKY RIDGE BREWERY

RENEWABLE ENERGY SOLUTION SUPPORTS OFF-GRID BREWERY’S MISSION TO BECOME FULLY CARBON NEUTRAL

off-grid

THE CHALLENGE

Rocky Ridge Brewery are dedicated to producing sustainable beer as part of their “Greener Pastures” initiative. The brewery, located in Jindong Western Australia, required a renewable energy solution in order to realise their commitment to becoming a fully carbon neutral and sustainable operation.

OUR SOLUTION

Unlimited Energy Australia worked with local installer Innovative Energy Solutions to design and project manage the brewery's energy infrastructure. The systems consists of a 73kWh TESVOLT lithium battery system supporting and balancing a solar array.

This new energy storage system and PV array provide reliable energy day and night, transforming the brewery’s energy supply into a truly off-grid self sustaining system. The existing on site diesel generator can now rest in back up mode to be used for shorter periods of time as and when needed.

The switch from diesel to solar and battery storage offsets approximately 100 tonnes of CO2 production for every year of operation in addition to the operational cost savings realised by being entirely energy independent.

THE EXPANSION

Rocky Ridge Brewery’s ongoing commitment to sustainable practice inspired their decision to expand their existing off-grid renewable energy system. Unlimited Energy Australia worked with Innovative Energy Systems to deliver the expansion, increasing the systems solar array, battery storage and inverter capacity.

The expanded system now boasts 250 solar panels and an extra 4 lithium ion TESVOLT high power battery systems providing an additional 96kWh battery storage.  This significant increase in generation and storage capacity supports the entire operation whilst saving an average of 250kg of carbon production every day; the equivalent of 92 tons of CO2 per year.

This project is another great example of how TESVOLT’s scalable and modular energy storage solution allows users the flexibility to enhance and grow their systems in line with their operational requirements.
